PERFORMANCE
Typhoons are truly high speed, blue-water, open ocean boats. Designed on proven hulls, with safety, sea keeping capability and comfort the primary objectives.
Like most revolutionary boats, our design is the embodiment of lifelong boaters who are driven by a desire to conquer the water and waves. It’s the culminating creation of world renowned boat designer Cal Connell and Harry Schoell (both from the original Rybo Runner design team) along with the manufacturing genius of Bruce Boyle who has spent his years behind race cars, speed boats, fishing boats and marina development.
We start our hull design procedure by giving the hull a high speed (handles 50 to 70 plus mph) mission. Developed hull lines (no flat side, sharp corners or straight lines), a deep-vee, naturally ventilated multi-stepped hull, fine entry forward, reverse chine’s, sufficient bow overhang and Carolina flare, delivers a stable, soft riding, dry air-cushioned ride. Powered by either gas outboards or our twin 315 Yanmar diesel system with out drives, the low drag hull provides unmatched efficiency and range.

WHY A MULTI-STEP HULL?
Long used as a technique with racing yachts, when running, anytime you reduce the wetted surface area, you automatically reduce the drag and increase efficiency resulting in higher speeds with less horsepower and less fuel consumption. There is no comparison. Less wetted surface area and less drag equals a dry, smooth ride.
-
The boat comes out of the hole and planes on one engine
-
Smooth riding at high speeds (50 PLUS MPH)
-
Stable but soft riding hull(22 degrees dead rise)
-
Sufficient bow overhang (produces bow flare for a dry boat ride)
-
Totally developed hull lines (no flat side, sharp corners, or straight lines)
-
The perfect tow-behind tender
Our new sophisticated manufacturing techniques ensure the integrity of the hull at even the highest speeds, while minimizing the maintenance and care.
